Farm Easter 2016

I'm not going to lie: our Easter started out a little rough. Saturday night our brand new refrigerator stopped working and we lost about $100 in groceries. We didn't get a chance to go shopping for Easter picnic stuff because we were distracted with cleaning up the mess in the kitchen so we decided to just pick something up on the way to the farm on Sunday. Those plans, too, were dashed after Brad spotted a screw in the rear tire of the minivan Sunday morning. After a little improvising we packed a sad lunch made from the few things left that hadn't spoiled, loaded up Brad's truck, and headed out to meet our friends at the farm.

This year we celebrated with the Blackburns, the MacWherters (or Holy MacWherters, as Harper prefers to call them), and the Bullians. We did the traditional egg hunt and lunch and took lots of photos of all melee.

This is as close as I got to an Easter portrait of Harper and Will this year.
Lame, uncooperative kids.
It looks like a poster for an Easter horror movie. Easter: The Rising.

On your marks... get set... GO!

Will couldn't help but open his eggs in the field.

Easter Ham

Scott and Bradford had important grown-up stuff to discuss.

Vanessa was not falling for Birdie's shenanigans.

Jeremy took command of all kite-related operations. (Thank you, Jeremy!)

The girls had a blast.

Harper went first.

Mimi rocked the kite aeronautics.

Then this happened.

Even Birdie got to fly the kite!

Hugging it out.

Pouting.

Vanessa was not having it.

Off to the swing set!

Farms have so much fun stuff!

Will got ahold of his very own bubbles...

... and decided to try them out.

Success!

Sweet satisfaction.

Then it was Birdie's turn to take the gator for a little spin.

At the end of the day Brad piled all the kids into the tractor and drove them around the farm. The inside of the cab looked like a clown car.

In the end it turned out to be a perfect day. Thank you for spending Easter with us MacWherters, Blackburns and Bullians! We are beyond lucky to have you in our lives!

Happy Easter from the Booker Pack!
